IQN
IQN
(Internationally Qualified Nurse)
At Flyworld, we specialize in the New Zealand IQN (Internationally Qualified Nurse) Pathway, which has become the most popular alternative for nurses who want to avoid theย NCLEX-RN exam.
The New Zealand pathway is not only “easier” for many due to its clinical focus, but it also offers a legal “backdoor” to Australian registration through the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (TTMRA).
๐ณ๐ฟ Step 1: The New Zealand IQN Pathway (No NCLEX)
In 2024, New Zealand replaced the old CAP (Competency Assessment Program) with a new streamlined system. Instead of the US NCLEX, you take the NCNZ Theoretical Exam. You will have to pass one more practical exam called OSCE (New Zealand). Then you can get your NZ Registration.
๐ฆ๐บ Step 2: The "Trans-Tasman" Bridge to Australia
Once you hold your New Zealand Nursing License, you can apply for Australian registration (AHPRA) without sitting for any further exams (no NCLEX, no Australian OSCE).
Lifetime Dual Registration
Can you hold both? Yes. * You can maintain your NCNZ (New Zealand) and AHPRA (Australia) licenses simultaneously. This allows you to live in Australia and work in New Zealand (or vice versa) at any time in your career.
